What Worship Is And What It Is Not

Genesis 22:1 tells us that Abraham’s faith was tested by God. God required him to sacrifice his beloved son, Isaac, the son of promise to God. Abraham said that this act of service to the Lord was “Worship.”

That’s a very, very different interpretation of what some modern-day church goers might call worship. It’s not fancy lights and loud music performed by an entertainment group. Romans says that worship is our spiritual service.

Are we holding on to anything at all so tightly that we couldn’t open our hands and let it go as worship unto the Lord? If we are, we must re-evaluate our worship.
